LOTTOMATICA ANNOUNCES THAT ITS SUBSIDIARY GTECH GLOBAL SERVICES CORPORATION SIGNS FOUR-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH VEIKKAUS OY IN FINLAND

EXPECTED REVENUES OF APPROXIMATELY US$39 MILLION TO GTECH OVER THE EXTENSION PERIOD

ROME (ITALY) - PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US), January 07, 2008 -  Lottomatica S.p.A. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, GTECH Global Services Corporation, has signed a four-year contract extension to continue providing software licensing and additional software products and services to Veikkaus Oy, the operator of the Finnish National Lottery. The contract extension is expected to generate revenues to GTECH of approximately US$39 million, over the extension period commencing in December 2009 through November 2013.

Under the terms of the extension, GTECH will provide Veikkaus with continued software licensing and related products and services in connection with a GTECH-provided turn-key, state-of-the-art, Lottery and Sports Betting system.  The system is processing wagers via retailer terminals, the Internet, and mobile channels, and is currently being migrated to a GTECH Enterprise SeriesT system .  Veikkaus is also increasing its commitment toward GTECH by, among other things, increasing the level of professional software services to be provided, and are planning jointly with GTECH for an extended games and sales channel portfolio.
